 The Jury of the "Premio Santa Croce Ex libris/Piccola grafica", made up by Antonio Berni, Rodolfo Ceccotti, Eugenio Cecioni e Alessandro Tosi, presided over by the councillor of the town of Santa Croce sull’Arno Alberto Pozzolini, met on December 14th 2006 at 11:30 a.m. After having examined all the works, the Jury decided unanimously to award the Prize to the Ukrainian artist Konstantin Kalynovych with the following motivation: “To a remarkable technical skilfulness, which allows him to use masterfully and elegantly the chalcographic techniques, Kalynovych unites a narrative wealth of surprising originality which reaches, especially in the ex libris The Noah’s Ark realized in 1997 for Susi Kolar, absolute heights”. The Jury remarked also the difficulty of returning a verdict given the extremely high level of all the participant works that testify of the vitality of the genre and that honour the first edition of the Prize.
